The Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to preserving American history, securing America’s future through better education, and promoting patriotism.

Service to America - Volunteering in our Community

Every year, Mountain Rendezvous Daughters volunteer thousands of hours in our community.  This year we donated and dedicated an American Flag to the Evergreen Rodeo Association in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. Some of the chapter’s on-going projects include identifying veterans’ graves in Gilpin County cemeteries, proper disposal of worn and tattered American flags, cleaning gravesites in local cemeteries, and support of deployed soldiers.

Patriotism

Mountain Rendezvous Chapter embraces our National Society as a patriotic service organization. Our support for veterans is on-going from assisting with bake sales at the Denver VA to throwing a holiday party for veterans in the VA’s life skills program each December. We participate in a Wreath Laying Ceremony with Evergreen’s American Legion Post 2001 to honor all mountain area veterans around the anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Daughters also support America’s service personnel in current conflicts abroad.  We are honored to support our local first responders.

Education

The Mountain Rendezvous Chapter promotes education in numerous ways. We annually sponsor the DAR Good Citizens award which provides scholarships to local high school seniors. The chapter provides early reader kits to Evergreen Christian Outreach (EChO) that include books, tips for reading with young children, and other materials. For many years the chapter has supported the Lakota Sioux at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation through an annual food drive.
